Not that it will be of interest to many!

Was empty with low fuel warning, so it was a sedate 15 mile drive to use my Tesco 18p off a liter, did 49.4mpg getting there according to the DIS.
Brimmed and left the station, looked down at the dash and immediately asked passenger to take a pic of the dash cluster....being female it took her a while to take a decent shot with me driving :D
I then drove 40 non-stop motorway miles, increasing the DIS mpg to 55.2mpg, however the range did not increase from that captured on film above.
Can imagine the computer saying "Naaah it can't be possible in a 3.0 quattro so I'm not budging at 1015 :biglaugh:
Still have 20l in jerry cans but managed to save a full £18 on the 100l purchased and paid just 99.9p per liter:Blush2:
Managed 783 miles on the last 80l brimmed tank which works out at around 43mpg.

I filled up our Skoda at Tesco yesterday and took advantage of June's ppl saving to also fill up 2 jerry cans for my mower, strimmer and dirtbike. Makes me feel like a cheapskate every time and that feeling rises exponentially according to the number of containers being filled. Of course there's not any other way to do it, but I just feel as thoughpeople looking at me start panicing about another fuel shortage!
That's petrol, but diesel's at 113.1ppl all this week so not bad, and will rise next week I'm sure. I regularly see 620m (equates to 1000km) on my DIS but I've not got a lot of faith in its accuracy. Think I may recall a 700 figure once, but it might as well have said "L00".

117.9 was the cheapest within 20 miles of me...where is 'CD UK' that it deserves to pay almost 5p less per liter:confused:

117.9 was the cheapest within 20 miles of me...where is 'CD UK' that it deserves to pay almost 5p less per liter:confused: It's about 300 miles away from where I filled up today at a Texaco using a UK Fuels fastfuel card. Handy, except that the Gulf in "CD UK" no longer accepts it and the nearest alternative site is Morrison's over 20 miles away. Price is fixed weekly but charges are direct debited a week or two later...and the card costs £18 p.a.

Mark,
Im shocked you use A supermarket fuel :)
On a serious note, I was thinking of going from brand fuel to the optimum brand diesel as in V power due to added protection of engine. Guess there's a thread about the pro's and cons so will do some more digging.

Boris, the difference is I use Millers additive as well, but previously the best range on top-up I've seen was circa 940, the only difference between then and now is that I also add 500ml-1l of two stroke oil into the tank before I fill-up.
Some would say it's just a homeopathic dosage and will make no difference, my response would be to ask if they'd had 900 miles out of a tank in a 3.0 quattro :)
Am sure you'll appreciate that the only difference between supermarket fuel and a wallet cleansing superfuel is the additive pack, I'm just adding it after the fact and saving myself a minimum of 25ppl, or £20 per tank

Re the supermarket fuel point - I've used it without fail for the last 75k - both common rail diesels, both returning the expected MPG (currently a DIS estimated 600 miles to a 40l tank)
It's a long debated subject - IIRC Ben posted a thread explaining exactly what you pay for when you plump for the premium fuels over supermarket fuel.
I just stick my supermarket fuel in and go, no additives.

Still an interesting thread with all the different opinions. So the benefits of 2 stroke oil is? Not heard of this that's all.
