Well I'd like to thank Audi for making a car that when required can react and keep us safe.
Last night in my way home from a friends party in the early hours I found myself in a rather sticky position when'making progress' Came round a sweeping bend with a dip when a effing great dear appeared from knowhere on my side, brakes jumped on but was obvious that wouldn't work as car jumped sideways across road, after a couple of snakes and lots of screeching tyres i was down to walking pace. Needless to say the skid marks on the road were replicated elsewhere.

Dear disappeared untouched, car untouched except for a bit of tyre loss.

I know is not big or clever driving fast on roads but thank you audi, that could have been messy.

Only time I've ever had ABS engage was with a deer back in 94 in a brand new Mondeo.

Was travelling below the speed limit and know would have hit it if doing 60 and/or not having abs

It's rather amazing how these seemingly docile creatures can become something of nightmares when up close in a moving car.

Can't think how a moose presents to Canadian drivers! :1zhelp:

PS: Only reason I bought my A6 quattro was to keep my family safe in all weather/road conditions :)
PPS: Well done Bops, am sure the skill of the driver had now't to do with it:confused:

Same reason for us, safe all year round family hauler.
If I'd not avoided the damn stupid animal I wouldn't have a car at the minimum now, maybe worse it was big enough to come straight at the screen.
Yes there was some ability of mine to avoid it but the car certainly helped. I had esp half off but it certainly worked some magic.

I thought you could only have it off or on?

quick press of the esp button disables the asr but keeps the esp enabled, long hold of the esp button disables all stability aids.
