Hey everyone, back to Audi's after owning a MINI for a year (not for me).

I've just purchased a 2007 A4 Avant from a small local dealer, it has 100k on it but lovely condition.

Test drive was fine, nothing bad but I've only had it 3 days and after a short drive the clutch gets very juddery when pulling away, even worse in traffic.

I'm thinking clutch/DMF?

Dealer gave three month warranty but only on engine, not wearable items but surely after three days I should have some ground to stand on? I emailed them today and they called back saying the car was fine when they drove it and they dont understand why I'm saying it isn't right....to be honest they seemed a little dodgy. I've been reading about the sale of goods act and hoping that may help me.

Any help or advice would be great, I really like the car so want it to be good.

Thanks,

Harry

Court rejects dealer's right to repair - Car Dealer Magazine (http://cardealermagazine.co.uk/publish/court-rejects-dealers-right-to-repair-fault-and-orders-him-to-pay-2750/52909)

so, read this. the sales of goods act basically states the dealer is responsible for the car for 6 months. a 3 month warranty is technically illegal and no such thing exists. tell him to repair it or you will get it done elsewhere and meet him in court, and after reading the above article i am sure he will be more reasonable.

On a car with a DMF you need a minimum of 15 minutes and 10 miles test drive, it's when it heats up that the wear becomes more apparent. Zollaf the Oracle of Pembrokeshire is right dealer has to fix/refund, his choice really. I wouldn't be surprised if he refunds and sells it on unfixed

Thank you both for the advice, called them today and said I was coming in....drove all the way into the city and had no judder at all, took it up and down hills starting and stopping and nothing! Decided to not go today as I didn't want them saying its fine and that I'm making it up. Seems to do it whenever it pleases which is annoying.

I hope they can offer a repair as I absolutely love the car otherwise, it has all the features I wanted and the only other fault I can find is that the boot microswitch is broken so no boot lights.

Thanks again
