Hi,
I have recently bought a 3.0TDI Quattro Avant (manual). It is a 2006 plate and has only had one owner from new and only has 60K on the clock.
When accelerating I am getting a clonk from the rear of the car (only seems to be noticeable in 1st & 2nd gear ).
Local Audi specialist have carried out an inspection and have found that the centre propshaft bearing has a bit of play in it, everything else seems to be in good order. They think it could be this, or it could be in the differential, but can't tell this without stripping it down.
I have conducted a Google search based on the symptoms I am getting, the results of which seems to point to the bearing also.
Has anybody else on here had a similar problem or could comment on the likely source of the problem.
