Good morning everyone,
I am aware that I am becoming a frequent question poster... I thought it'll help someone out there with similar issues...
While working on replacing the vacuum hoses, I noticed an oil leak around pressure regulating valve (028129101D) and the breather tube (028103509) at the top of the engine:
27839
I'm thinking this is a simple fix by replacing the breather hose which may have split.
Am I being naïve or should I look out for anything else?
Thanks very much in advance!

thats not really what one would call a leak. a slight misting or even a minor weep, but not a leak. its possibly down to a split in the pipe or even the clip is loose due to the pipe being brittle. either way, replacing the pipe and /or the breather will cure it.

Yes, that doesn't sound bad at all. Will get the parts and replace the tube.
Thanks very much Zollaf!

Just a quick question.
I took the breather tube yesterday to have a clean so that I can see how much oil seeps out in next few days.
I couldn't find any obvious split or pin holes on the tube. But what I noticed was that the tube between pressure regulating valve and the oil separator is not snug fit and moves around even with the clips on. And the longer tube below the oil separator is also loose. But they won't come off (obviously held by the clips), but is this how they should be or have the tubes become hard and brittle?

this does happen, the plastic is hardened and won't flex enough to seal.

What we refer to as "mildly moist" :naughty:
