Well 3 weeks have passed since I picked up my 2008 A6 3.0 TDI Quattro, done 800 miles, so not been using it much as I have been detailing it. Found the last owners name on a service bill from November last year at Preston Audi, its a two owner car supplied and serviced by Preston Audi, genuine car by all accounts also talked with Preston Audi and everything looks good.

So a week or so the emissions light comes on I know total bummer, the previous owner told me it came on and he had Audi look at it they got it out, and the car ran fine until he traded it in for a new A4 in February this year, he confirmed that the passenger door was painted because someone keyed his car.

So a call to the Garage I purchased the car from down south, no bother sir get the car into an independent garage and get the codes read. A local garage in For far I really like found two fault codes no 6 glow plug faulty, and left inlet manifold shot. OK just go ahead with repair and we will pay the bill, car was booked in last week and returned A day later, good news sir the right inlet manifold has been done reasently, and no 6 glow plug was a tight bugger , but the new one is now fitted.

So to round off still well happy with my 3.0 TDI, just looking for some mud flaps and carpet mats to finish it off, let's hope now the manifolds are done the hunnymoon continues.

Plenty of genuine Audi mud flaps on ebay.

I bought my rubber mats from Audi as they had a special at the time and paid I think £55 or the set of 4

OEM mud flaps purchased off ebay for circa £20 less than Audi price...specialist fitted them for me and took him 30 mins.

30 mins to put four rubber mats in !!! I don't understand this, it took me two mins to fit mine.

It's a simple enough job if you remove the rear wheels and full lock the front wheels.

Well apparently from the thread below even Audi can fit them wrong....and that was for a Forum Moderator:

Very true, they didn't fit them correctly! Ended up going back and having them re-fitted. Thankfully now they haven't been ripped off again! :D

It's such an easy job that they probably gave it to the boy to do. :p
