Hi Folks,
Hope all are well.
I've just got back from Canada, so just had a chance to catch up on the latest threads!
I've also just been off the phone to my dealer, and he has said that my cars build week has been bought forward to week 20, and delivery should be end of June/beginning of July and also said it was fine to get the model and engine badges removed ... Exciting times!!
I had some questions if you guys would be kind enough to answer.
1. Is Audi Complete a worthwhile investment in addition to GAP, tyre insurance etc ... Don't want my monthly outgoings being excessively high coinciding with the car costs/car insurance etc!!??
2. Are all new cars covered with free breakdown insurance for a specific time?
3. Is there any additional advice you could give me in regards to anything else I need or may not need (other than car insurance lol).
Also I saw a picture of a 15 plate A6 black ediiton with only a double exhaust on the one side NOT the new style on both sides. I thought all new black edition models had the exhausts on either sisde (merc style exhausts)
Thank you and hope you guys have a great weekend

I was in the same boat as you with my FL ultra. However I got complete with Audi for £28 pm, I just think it's a safer option. I got gap from gapinsurance.co.uk for £163 compared to £599 with Audi and that includes the gap insurance paying my excess if I have to claim.
With complete I had 3 years brake down with aa and they sent a card which is now in the glovebox.
Car insurance I was shocked as I traded up from a VW CC which was £400 per year to £217 per year with 15 plate a6 avant and that was with john Lewis car insurance.
I have a 15 plate and its with new style exhaust - the only reason I could see with an older model is the dealer had one unregistered sitting around and sold it for much less.

All new Audis come with 3 years roadside cover.... at least that is my experience.

Correct and with my car about to reach 3 years I have just been sent a letter by the AA offering to extend the cover for a further year for £89 which had I not already got personal AA membership and a new car on order would have been quite an attractive offer.
To the OP, Audi Complete can be attractive but to me seems to be mileage dependent and how long you plan to keep the car. If you are doing "normal" mileage and plan to keep the car then over a 3 year period you would only probably service the car twice, even if you were on fixed service intervals (assumes you do not service the car just prior to part exchanging it), then the service cost would c£750 which makes the £17 per month look attractive, add in the 3rd service then it is very attractive. If you go down variable service then it is less attractive as you may only have one service in the 3 year period at c£400 which is c£11pm.
Likewise adding in tyres etc. In the 3 years I have had my car I have replaced the fronts (17" Pirellis) once and the rears will need replacing soon (hopefully not before the new car arrives!) and that has cost me c£300 or £8pm but tyre wear will depend on driving style and also the type of roads you drive on (a lot of my driving is A roads and motorways) the only other cost has been a set of wiper blades which were less than £30 so £35pm would have been very unattractive.
Definitely get GAP from a third party and choose one that allows you to defer the first year assuming your insurer does new for old in the first year.
Suspect the 15 plate with the 2 exhausts was an old car that was unsold and registered since March. FL cars only started coming through in volume in the new year so could easily be quite a few pre-FL sitting around unsold

I noticed this reading through the folder on my new car, covering UK and Europe. Only thing I spotted which I need to confirm, the claim limits sound very very low.
Rental car for maximum of 2-3 days I think, £500 maximum onward travel. I'm looking to go much further afield in June so hoping I can just upgrade it for enhanced cover? Otherwise I'll just have to use my Greenflag account. Which I have to say were absolutely awesome when I broke down in France over the Christmas-New Year period last winter.
