Finally got into the garage the week before last and signed the deal for my new car!

Went with the Misano Red BE Ultra S-Tronic (which my Dad has re-labelled as "Lipstick Red")

Handful of options to play with:
Heated Front Seats
Lighting Pack
Parking Pack
Speed Limit Display
Tech Pack Advanced
Heated Steering Wheel (couldn't resist!)

So was getting excited, but was told by the dealer delivery will be 5 months - so had to put it out of my mind.

Just got a call and been told that its now in BW16... YIPPEE!! :biglaugh:

Sometimes things just seem to go right.

Feeling excited again and had to tell someone!

Cheers.

You will not be disappointed ! Congrats!

I have BE Ultra with standard spec (apart from Daytona Pearl). I have a speed limit display in the Nav Screen, I don't know what extra speed limit enhancements to option gives?

build week 16 must be imminent !

It is great when that happens! I ordered my S line about the same time as you and given BW24, then got the call telling me it's BW18! the wait is killing me!

I thought the Speed Limit Display did exactly that!!

although I think it also uses cameras to read the actual signs..... But not sure I would have bothered if I had known you get it on the Nav screen. Must admit the Audi info is a little confusing.

Only went for the lighting pack to get the vanity mirror lights.... And I'm sure I recently read you get that as standard.

The wait is the worse part!

But looking forward to going for a long drive again :-)

The wait is a killer. Waited four months for mine! Did you go for the ambient lighting pack?

The speed limit display via the sat nav is not 100% accurate, one road near me shows 40 (correct) in one direction and 30 in the other, and you have to look away from straight ahead to see it. Also the brochure is very bad regarding the lighting packs. You do get vanity mirror lights as standard. The Lighting Pack upgrades them plus all the other interior lights to LEDs plus adding additional lighting inside and outside the car.

No, just the standard lighting pack.

I had had to stop myself as you can go option mad!

i was tempted by the HUD but it didn't have a target and a "fire" button. ;-)

Congratulations Steve!
I ordered my BE 2.0 Ultra S-Tronic last week and I know just how you are feeling right now :beerchug:

I went with Ibis white with following options;

Tech Pack
Lighting pack
Parking pack
Front and outer rear heated seats
Electric/heated/folding door mirrors

What alloys did you go for, and did you opt for S-line sports suspension?

I went for the 20" 5 twin spoke matt aluminium gloss turned alloy wheels, and stuck with the standard sports suspension which comes on the BE.

Just a waiting game now!

As has been stated the speed limit display that is derived from the sat nav data is not 100% accurate. I think the sat nav dat is simply incorrect sometimes - and other times it is out of data as speed limits are changed (and that usually means REDUCED).

The other thing that is not catered for are temporary speed limits for road works etc.

The speed limit display add-on uses a forward facing camera to read speed limit signs and augment the data from the sat nav to make it more accurate.

Sounds great ... BUT... based on comments from other forum members it is still not 100%. For example one member reported it sometimes seeing speed limit signs on motorway off-ramps and even though they were still driving in a 70mph zone the speed limit display shows 40mph.

Bittom line is these things can be a driver "aid" but are no excuse for kepping track of what the speed limit actually is. It's not an option that I would pay for precisely for the reasons described above.

Stuck with the standard "Matt Titanium Look" alloys for the BE. I also stuck with the standard suspension - I thought the ride might be too hard if its lowered further.

Did consider the rear heated seats - but as I have 3 children that sometimes sit in the back - it would just cause arguments :-)

I have to say that my Speed Limit Display has been 99% accurate so far...It missed a temporary speed limit on the M25 that was set too high for the camera to see - and maybe for the driver has well, to be honest - and never had a problem in or out of motorway ramps.

I have the heated sterring wheel and I am so happy I got it...

I will return from the dark side, after 3 years in a 520D Tourer, when I order a Misano Red A6 S tronic S line on Monday, has anyone got the 1BV Sports Suspension? I do 40k a year mostly on motorways. It's a no cost option but I've heard it ruins the ride? Delivery quoted as early August.
