Off 1st thing tomorrow too see both A6 3.0 TDI quattros both 05 , So far Im leaning towards the saloon as it an S line all the toys bose ect now this car has 107, 385 miles on the clock it has 2 Audi service stamps in the book one a BMW/Audi dealer stamp the other an Alfa dealer stamp the other from velvis performance in Essex? between 17,000 and 20,000 miles between oil changes on the dreaded audi long life scedual, the last two oil changes are from independent garages so that works out about every 15,000 for the last two oil changes, the reg of this car is AP 54 GYZ so this is the long shot anyone on here know this car , ? like I said a long shot but you never know, The avant has 5 audi dealer stamps in the book most in Glasgow /Inverness/ Lowestoft the reg for this car is SJ 05 BXR anyone know anything about this one its only covered 91,000, again Audi long life service through out, These cars both have air suspension right, what are the mot common faults with this system, so over to you guys.

I hope you have deep pockets if ANY part of the suspension fails.

Are you sure they have air suspension as it is quite an expensive option?

Agree it's VERY rare on non-Allroad A6's, probably only 2 in 100, as Scott says it's an expensive option, and those spec'ing an S-line would want the 'sharp' handling and lowered presence, so can't think they'd add air suspension to negate this.

Suspect they don't have, but you can tell they have if there's an air suspension button, if memory serves it's a icon of a car with a car and an up arrow for raising and another with a down arrow for lowering. If it doesn't have the button(s) it won't have air suspension.

As Chris indicates they cost thousands if they fail

I would go for the low mileage with added bonus of audi stamps.

As they said air bag suspension equals big £££ when they go wrong.

I had a Mercedes CLS with airmatic once. never again. big bucks when they go wrong. And there's a list of potentential issues once the cars over 6yrs old. I ended up px the CLS for the A6 3.0tdi Le mans, and trust me the CLS500 full AMG kit, was a better car in all respescts. Even the fuel economy at approx 24mpg while still only getting only around 27.9mpg form the A6. People still ask me now why did i change the car. Unfortunately all Q7, A6 Allroads and A8's; the Audi i like best all come with this suspension as standard. Very few A6's..But looking at your original question are you staying that they definitely have Air Susp or are you asking if they have Air Susp..Air Susp issueare a dealerjob only as the part is a dealer part only, even the 1st Allroad still look like a decent expensive car that can be brought fir approx £2500. But one potential issue could see bills doubling that unless your prepared to travel to every available scrap yard..
