Hi folks
looking for a bit of advice. Been noticing a lot of white facelift cars on here so it's something you guys must be interested in.
i have a glacier white fl ultra. Been noticing recently that tar spots and iron spots all over the car. I like to keep my car clean and looking good but these are irritating me now.
so my question is what do you guys use to quickly remove this?
ny car has had a protection detail so I'm not wanting a harsh product that will strip the waxes and sealants off my car. Previously I would have just clay barred it and machine polish the whole car and seal but the a6 is HUGE and I don't have the time and I now have a kid running circles round me every time I try and get the hose out.
Cheers

Al

You can clay just the tar marks or just spray them with GT85 PTFE lubricant or WD40 then polish. I never have an issue doing it that way and have had white
cars for the past 10 years.

Hi Al, My car is Daytona, but it still shows up tar, particularly in the summer. I use this, Intensive Tar Remover - Products - Autoglym (http://www.autoglym.com/products/products/intensive-tar-remover) Relatively cheap, and removes tar spots well! - cheers, Matt

Tar marks are the least of my worries as most of it pops off with my finger nails but the iron spot seems to embed itself into the paint so a bit more difficult.

Iron x, followed by claying is your best bet.

Full wash then: Tardis first, then ironx, then clay (mitt). Polish as required and seal.

Is there any spray on hose off type solutions?
i used snow foam and that saves me heaps of time so was hoping someone would recommend something similar;-)

I'm pretty sure anything harsh enough to remove the tar will lift polish and sealant. Have you asked the guy that detailed the car? Exactly what was it sealed with JOI?

Anything that will remove tar is basically a petrochemical and will strip wax, as will iron x. Wait till It's nice, wash, iron x, reseal and wax.
