I've got a late 2005 A6 Avant 2.0 tdi with a misfire (BLB engine code)

I borrowed VCDS from a friend and got the following error:
16687 cylinder 3
P0303 missfire detected intermittent

I've looked at the measuring blocks for the injector and there is a lot of movement at idle, but at the time of posting got this:
Group 13 Idle stabalization (Injector Quantity Deviation)
-0.61mg/str -1.51mg/str 2.21mg/str -0.02 mg/str

Does this mean I need a replacement injector in cylinder 3? Is it worth removing and putting through an ultrasonic cleaner as injectors seems to be over £600 each?

don't know if you can simply swap an injector with another on the engine and see if the fault follows?

Sounds like a sensible approach. Before I go about removing and refitting injectors I'll need to get some new stretch bolts and a torque wrench that will measure the small amounts of torque needed on the clamp bolts. I don't suppose anyone knows a cost effective place to buy them?

Having spoken to a local VAG specialist (who advised that he would replace the injector in cylinder 3 and the injector wiring harness) I've ordered the parts for replacement.

If anyone else is looking for injector and/or rocker bolts Darkside Developments sell genuine VAG items online.

Having replaced the faulty injector over the weekend this seems to have resolved the issue and I've done 80 miles of trouble free motoring. Thanks to Chris and others for their help and advice.
