Just bought a 3.0 Tdi A6C7 S Line, it has a jukebox, but in the handbook, there appears to be a contradiction.
In the first paragraph p25 it says that audio files can be copied from the CD/DVD drive, then two paragraphs on it says its not possible.
It is a 20GB hard drive, but as I understand it, files can only be copied to the drive from an SD card and even then, if the files are from ITunes, the file structure needs to be altered to allow the files to be played, in short to much of a chore.
What I can't understand is if the prevention of copying from the CD drive is for reasons of copyright, which I can understand, why then is it possible to copy these files from an SD card?

Have you tried to copy from disc?

If you have access to VCDS, I believe there's an option in the MMI hidden menu to enable CD ripping to the jukebox - have a look at the VCDS tricks thread. So perhaps it is technically possible, but Audi (or the UK importer) chose to disable the feature for some reason.

I've copied normal mp3, wma and video files from SD card and USB stick and it works fine but I haven't tried from a disc. The only problem I've had is on a 64GB SD card where certain files can't be copied, but my car doesn't officially support SD cards larger than 32GB so it's no great surprise.

Why? My iTunes folder structure is one folder for each album (with the album name as the folder name). I just copied it onto SD cards and imported into the jukebox. It is kinda slow but quite doable.

Thanks Dave,

Where can I see this VCDS thread?
