Encountered a problem with my car today. I had left work and drove 5 minutes, stopped at the traffic lights and with my foot on the break, stop start mode kicked in for about a second, engine restarted with an error message displaying "stop start malfunction". The per-heat coil warning stated to flash. So I turne engine on end off again light went out until I pressed the break again and the exact same thing happened again. When I drove off the engine light came on and the car went into limp mode (reduced power).
I called an Audi garage who wasn't too far away and I was advised to bring it straight there. Long story short. I was provided another car and they'll have doom news for me tomorrow all going well..
Has anyone else heard about or had this sort of problem before?
Cheers

Sounds like it might be the same issue I had?

How old is your car? I think there were a batch of early 2012 cars with the fault I had...

Yep, ours is 2012 and had the same fault. As the car was still under 12 months warranty Audi picked it up and fixed it but couldn't tell you what they did.

My car is a 2013. I checked with the garage and the EGR was ok as it's a later model. It's still in the garage. They've carried out a load of checks and tests to replicate the fault without success. Tow of the faults which showed up was an incorrect reading from the boost pressure sensor, but it appears top be working a normal now. Also there was an issue with the fuel rail pressure sensor reading too. The even mentioned that it could even be a ECU issue given the fact that there was more than one sensor giving a false reading. They're doing a cold start test on it this morning to try replicate the issue. It was also mentioned that if the issue doesn't happen again with them, they wont be able to change any components. In which case they'll return the car to me and wait for it to happen again! Not happy about that to be honest. I thought they'd have at least changed the boost pressure sensor considering it was reading high at the time of the fault. Although it is strange that its now reading ok...
I hopefully have the car back with me today and get to talk to the technician who was working on the car. Good thing I have another 16 months warranty left!
I'll keep you updated.

Picked my car up from Audi this afternoon. No further issues found. Must had to wait to see if it appears again. The 3 errors logged on the ECU where the boost sensor, fuel rail pressure sensor and the MAF sensor. They said that if one was to show a fault it could trigger a fault on either of the other 2. Hopefully that's the last of it, time will tell...

Just wondering if the issue was solved. I have the same issue twice now and the following VCDS log. Booked in for Wednesday so I'll see what they say then... (S-tronic ultra)
