Guys,
As some may know i'm new to this great forum and still looking for my A6 Avant, so on this basis when looking today I see a "58" 2.0 tdi S-line TDV with 99k on the clock for £4500 should I be suspicious. Granted, i've yet to ask Q's about history but even still its a long way away and wanted your thoughts please? :1zhelp:
Thanks in advance.

Ok so done some digging around via Audi UK and dealers as couldn't get hold of seller. Last prepped by Walton Audi in Aug 2012 @ 40,600 miles and haven't seen it since until end of 2014 where it was taken back with a oil pressure warning light and nocking noise...guess what.... no oil at all in engine. Customer declined repairs and took it away. Now on sale tup north for low amount which could explain that.
Well worth calling around and doing some homework on car's history and a lesson learned (luckily in time) for me on this one so I hope this will encourage others to follow suit if they're thinking of a purchase.......PHEW
I must stress that as I didn't get old of seller they haven't had the opportunity to divulge information so it could have been an honest seller who would have told of faults/history...or not.

Dodged a bullet there I think!
If he didn't stipulate the issues in the advertising I can't believe he would have done over the phone!
Might be worth sticking up the registration just so those on here can avoid....?

Was it advertised as parts/repair. He must have done something to it otherwise even clinically insane people would know the engine was gone.

no, disconnect the oil sender or short it out so the liht never comes on and someone would buy it, then come on here moaning about it and how it is everyones fault but their own, and how poor vw's are etc.... etc,,,, then get all shirty when asked if they had the car inspected or had any idea about cars, you get the picture.

No it wasn't advertised spares or repair hence the title of this thread. I gathered something would be wrong but was just putting the feelers out thats all.

amazing really, you have done your homework, which is great. its had the common oil pump problem more than likely, but to fix it properly is a very large amount of money, so i really do wonder what has been done to it.

Hence the awkward questions. Of course he might have bought it recently and is currently trying to get shot of it
