Hello all.

I have what I hope to be simple question.

My centre air vent, the one on top of the dash by the windscreen. I have been on the motor way over the weekend and have noticed that the faster you drive the louder the vent gets. i have heard that there is a sensor that closes the vent, should you be following something chucking out a lot of fumes for arguments sake. Should it be letting in the air the faster I go or should this not close of, as its made the cabin really noisy.

I of course can stop this by pressing the re-circulation button but then the cabin gets all clammy and "horrible".

Thanks
Dave

You might have a flap motor stuck.
You can reset the flaps with VCDS.

VCDS????

I have just had a motor replaced behind the glove box, would they be different motors/flaps?

VCDS = Diagnostic software.
There are a number of flap motors on both sides of the dash.
With VCDS you can do an output test to see if any are stuck then you can reset the flaps to the correct position using basic settings.
There is a map on here that lists helpful members willing to scan cars, look for someone near you...

Ok, where's the list?!?!?!?!? I can't find it?

My mate has a demo version of the software, but not sure if this will do it.

thanks

Look for a post by Chris, there is a link to the map in his signature.
You might have to use a laptop, it doesn't show in tapatalk.

Hi
Since you guys were talking about the centre air vent I thought I would just ask something else. on my old 2010 Le mans I could change the temp coming in it, on the mmi. but on my newer 2012 A6 I dont seem to be able to change this. is it just me or can it be done, if not can it be done on the vcds
