2006 3.0tdi unexpected midrange acceleration

Hi
my 3.0tdi manual suddenly (after using redex but may not be connected) now accelerates instantly from 2000 to 2500 rpm. Runs fine apart from that.

A few weeks ago it gained a noise which I put down to the exhaust, louder than normal from 2000rpm and a sucking noise if you lift off the accelerator. But it ran fine.

Then a few days ago when driving home I noticed the revs jump from 2000 to 2500 rpm, car continues to accelerate as normal.

Is this normal and redex has cleared something? Or is something up?

When you say instant what was it doing before?
When you says revs jumped, did the car shoot forwards?
Maybe worth a look see at your clutch.

Before it was quick but now ultra rapid. Am off clutch by then, maybe its normal.

Quick test on clutch, drive along steady speed but pulling slightly slowly push clutch pedal whilst keeping the power on, it should travel a decent way before clutch slips, if not its on the way.
