trunklid won't open

I have an 97' A4 Quatro. The trunklid won't open. Is there an emergency switch?The key must have been changed so that won't work.

Any sound like the motor trying to open the lock, I'm guessing the rest of the central locking is working?

Ya,you can hear it working the lock.Problem is ,after I bought the car I found out the trunk lid must have been replaced and they didn't replace the locks.worked good until it froze shut.We thawed it out and oiled it up but hasn't worked since.Guess i'll have to crawl in thru the back

Drop the back seats, crawl into the boot with a torch and open it from the inside. Put a new lock on, cheap as chips
