Any suggestions please ?

One of the wires going into the electrical connector for the secondary water pump has snapped. Looks like a piece of bad design to me.... unfortunately, the wire has snapped inside the connector so no way to spice it back together

I reckon the connector costs about 10p to manufacture, but AUDI can only offer me a £70 solution that involves buying a big chunk of loom and cutting off the 10p connector. Not impressed.

Local scrap yard doesn't have any audi/vw/skoda/seat models that have this secondary water pump fitted - mines a 2009 model a6 with a 2.0tdi.

Any ideas??

Is it 2 pin? If not try sellers other items.

VW AUDI - 1J0 973 702 - 2 Pin Sealed Female JPT Connector Kit - 1J0973702 | eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-AUDI-1J0-973-702-2-Pin-Sealed-Female-JPT-Connector-Kit-1J0973702-/141452335955?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item20ef375b53)

There are two numbers on the connector:

PA66 GF25 - which I think is the type of plastic its made from and,

705162 - part id number maybe??

use a small flat bladed tool and insert it into the back of the snapped wire terminal, this should push the tang down and you will be able to pull out the terminal with tweezers.

The Ebay link that c4a5er posted, in the shop has the terminals in packs of ten for £3.

No need to replace the plug.

I think the VAG P/N 4F0 973 703 is that plug , superseded to 4H0 973 703 . Roughly £1.30, they should have offered to sell the plug as it is available individually.

It's not the plug he needs, it's a repair wire to fit the plug. If he gives the plug part number to the dealer they should be able to supply him the wire to suit.

Hi chap :),

I know it's not the plug he need :) , I was replying in context of the quoted text that dealer should have been able to sell plug plus as you rightly are pointing out a repair wire.

Also Dan in post 6 I thought had covered terminals and that no plug needed.

Any how VAG P/N's listed in image, latest plug at top, old at bottom, repair wires in between. Anyone using info please ref cross section of wire also note your vag dealer may force you to buy in bags of 5. Very first repair wire is £5.50 each and all rest £7.20 and please add vat. It may work out better to google part number see image and buy lug form another source.
