I recently replaced the wife's standard d3s bulbs with these http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=291115018546
Hers were taking a lot longer to get to operating temperature/colour and were dimmer and yellower than when she got it.
The new bulbs are much better, brighter and whiter than the dying stock bulbs. Can't do a like for like comparison as the old ones were 3 years old but she (and I) am happy with these.

Cheers for the tip. That's exactly how I feel mine are going. Do u know how these compare to the extreme vision. I was under utterly impression extreme vision were the fag ship?

No idea on comparison I'm afraid. I have all LED headlights in mine and these, although not as good, are not far off and much better than they were last week.

Isn't the X-treme vision a halogen? I've used the H7 version in the past on my B8 and am not sure I could tell the difference.

well i just ordered a set of teh extremevision D3s with 50% more light than the audi OEM ones, which are philips xenecostart (discontinued), these will also be 'cooler' colour temp since the extremes are 4800k and the stock are only 4300k. will report back once i have them installed :-)

Could you please post some before and after photos.I'm going down same route in April/May and these are supposed to be the best.I've had my halogen lights replaced in my previous A4 with Philips extreme and difference was noticeable and helped a lot with night driving.

That would be great if you could. Also how much did you pay for the pair.I remember looking to buy these end of last year and they were somewhere around £70-£80 per bulb but now have gone to about £85-£90 per bulb.

Looking on the internet again this morning the cheapest I can find are £147 on ebay(from Germany)which would be £153 by the time I add the postage fees. However I'm no quite sure about buyin these from ebay....saying that they are a lot cheaper than most uk suppliers which are now selling them for around £90.

ok, so installed them today, and while they are better, its only marginal imho. saying that, i got a really angry flash tonight going through a village when the oncmoing car clearly thought my full beam were on.... I would love to have been a fly on the wall in that car when i unleased by full beam right back at them lol.
they do seem a little whiter, but not a great deal. look really white and alot brigher from ourside the car looking on to them, but from driver seat, not so much.
not sure if that helps you decide to do it or not.

Changed my mind now I've had a chance to see them in their glory ... The new bulbs are actually a lot better. Happy
