1000 Mile service

Hi Folks,

just wanting some opinions from you guys.
My car just turned 1000miles and was wondering if i should do an oil and filter change?
call me old school but its something i used to do with all my cars. i am planning to keep this one for a few years so wanting to look after it a bit better unlike my other which was a company/lease car this one is mine.

why not, as long as the supplying dealer doesn't use it as an excuse to get out of any future warranty claim.

will be using a genuine audi filter and either castrol edge or the shell helix ultra so theres no way they can worm out of any warranty repairs.
I know it shouldnt do it any harm.
was more thinking does audi use some special oil from factory for the engine to bed in and would i be doing more harm than good?
i have noticed in my last 2 vag cars that after the first 10k service the car gets much better mpg, in my pre FL it averaged 35-40mpg then after service it was averaging around 45-7mpg doing the same daily commute. it could be a coincidence or the weather got warmer/cooler etc but each time the MPG is noticeably better after that first service.

Assune you're talking about a 10,000 mile service, not 1000 miles as you've stated?! [emoji1]

It's 1000 miles.
Just wanting to find out if at the factory they put some special oils or additives in to help things bed in. dont want to take it out prematurely.

nothing special in there, filled with the finest castrol edge/quantum LL 5w30 from factory.
