Rear doors won't lock-unlock and no interior lightsIf

Hello everyone,

I've been having trouble with my B6 2006 since I got it, the rear doors won't lock-unlock. I have to do it manually and the interior lights don't work either.

I took it to the dealer and they told me that the car had the comfort module and the steering column replaced. The previous owner went to them to replace those parts and thought that it was too expensive so he decided to get the parts for himself. The car is the European version and the previous owner got the module and the column from an American B6. Because of this I had to get a new key fob since the frequency emitted by the American and the European FOB keys isn't the same (at least, that is what the dealer said). I called the dealer a month ago to get the comfort module part number for my car and it is 3C0959433M, I bought one online and took it to my mechanic so he could install it. He did, but couldn't get the doors and lights to work so he put back the one the previous owner got. We checked all the fuses and checked with VCDS for any fault codes and none came up. I'm guessing it might have to do with the comfort module programming since when I open the rear doors it doesn't show on the dash that they are open.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You need a vcds read from the car to get the comfort control unit coding. You can work out what options are functioning from the coding.

True. Frequency 433/434MHz. Only available for european market. Frequency 315MHz north American market (NAR)

Reviving an old thread. I finally got my hands of vcds and got this out of the CCM. I have other pictures of the rest the programming. I tried a few options with the long coding helper, but still no lights or rear door lock/unlock.

I was wondering about the procedure of replacing the CCM. Since the immobilizer is included in the CCM, I wonder if I have to program a new key or something. If you know anything about it... since I have the correct CCM part.

Only a dealer can replace the CCM. You can DIY replace but you need to know how tor read/write eeprom chips, solder/unsolder eeproms. I can show you what to do but I wouldn't attempt it unless you are very confident in your skills.

You are wise. Best to let the dealer do it. B6 CCM is a danger because it contains immobilizer data, key codes etc. and it "talks to" the steering lock and engine ecu If you make an error you can end up needing to replace the steering lock, ccm, engine ecu and all the keys. A real nightmare. Even the dealer cannot do this without being connected "on-line" to Germany.

Having reread your post I think something is not right. I doubt that anyone changed the ccm because this is almost impossible in a b6. I have only heard of one person who has done it. I wonder if the previous owner had a dodgy fix made to the steering lock.

I only know this because I went to the dealer and they told me that they did the CCM change themselves. The part installed is 3C0959433AP and it should be 3C0959433M (they told me this based on my VIN number).

I had to to remove the old RFID chip from my old key and put in the one I mentioned I bought (my original FOB was the European and now I have the American) because I had to one FOB to unlock the car and the other to start it.
