Hi there, could somebody please help with a problem that has just started ? On driving today heard a clicking sound coming from rear wheel drivers side, it didn't matter what speed I was doing it was always there. Once I completed my journey of 5 miles I could smell a burning smell and alloy wheel was hot to touch.
Any help would be great:biglaugh:

Welcome to VWAF :)

There are quite a few Audi A3s, perhaps you could offer us a little more detail and I'll move this post out of the welcome section.

Hi and welcome to the site!

I'd check the tyre, the brake and the wheel bearing in that order. It might just one thing wrong or could be multiple problems.

The ticking could be the head of a screw or nail in the tyre tread hitting the tarmac with each rotation of the wheel.

The heat could be from a binding brake, a collapsed wheel bearing or possibly from an under-inflated tyre.

Wheel bearings usually rumble when they fail, but maybe some designs make that ticking noise.

Good luck getting it fixed!
