I changed injector no 3 and had it coded in and it still there ... I checked the injector wiring plug voltage and its the same as the other 3 , I then put the original no 3 injector into no 2 and had it codded in and it works fine so I put it back in its own place and I still have a misfire on cylinder 3... where can I go from here am ready to burn it .... thanks marty .. great forum

If you've ruled out an injector problem then you could try checking the cylinder compressions next.

thanks jim .. I have it booked in tomorrow with a vw specialist for just that .. I managed to get him on the phone today and told him all I had done , and he said possible valve or piston damage maybe caused by manifold flap breaking off ... he said hes dealt with 2 cases so far one golf and one audi .... surely not .. I have read about it on the bmw forums but not vw / audi .. anyway I will post up the compression figures when he lets me know ... cheers
