Hey guys! Brand new here and wanting my first A4!

Im looking at getting one of these and want to know what you guys think is better?

I have seen two for sale one diesel and one petrol

1. This is a 1.9tdi SE on a 53 plate with FSH, 12 months mot and pretty good nick inside and out BUT has done 277,000 miles.

2. This is a 2.0 SE FSI petrol on an 03 plate with part service history also good condition and with 116,000 miles on the clock.

Both are asking 1500 quid for them.
Im going to view both at the weekend but what do you guys reckon?

Cheers, Josh

Signs of water in battery tray if there is any walk away or it could have electrical problems which will cost a lot to repair, timing belt, check oil change history, see if it gets up to temperature (gauge should sit bang on 90), try to start it from cold if possible, listen for noise from suspension, that's about it.. I had 2.0 non fsi one for two years and had no real problems with it at all..

if the diesel is in good nick and has a proper fsh and runs like a dream, then buy it. yes its high miles, probably over halfway through its life, but how long are you going to keep it and how many miles do you want to put on it, plus, no one else is going to buy it so you could make him a stupid offer and probably get it.

What happened to the UK VAG high mileage club thread? There were some impressive mileages in there especially on the 1.9 tdi engine.
