engine management light has been on a while but the car drove ok,

past few days low power driving as holding back ( wee thud ) spring flashes on dash slightly more power not much. turning ignition on and of sorts it for fe minutes

well on way to the gargage today 4 times the above happens, last time on driving up a hill 15 - 25mph low power engine management / flashing spring lights on blue smoke coming out of the exhaust enough to worry me. but on she goes.

pull up at garage start her up again rev it a bit - black smoke

decide to take mechanic a run to show him, engine management light still on but she's flying so much so that his knuckles are white and he'd grabbing the jesus handles.

so to me and him it sounds like the DPF even the diagnostics throw up a sensor g450 which has been replaced twice. sound familiar to anyone. no power/then loads

whats the best cure

really ****** of as this is my 1st audi and putting me off :(

within past few months it's had a forced regen replaced g450 - engine management came back on next day, drove ok

2-3 weeks later considered g450 could have been faulty replaced it next day engine management light on drove ok

3 weeks later till now as stated in 1st thread. one thing i have noticed the warning light that shows you the car is regenerating

doesnt come on anymore??

havent heard back from mechanic yet, but he didnt seem too sure it was the DPF after the white knuckle ride i took him on.

The light coming on doesn't necessarily mean its regenerating, it regenerates in the background and the light only comes on when the filter is above a set level and telling you to drive it at steady revs (2000 ish) in 4th gear until it clears.

Was the sensor fitted genuine? What is your driving style/routine?

hope so. irregular it could sit for a week and not be driven. then stop start rarely gets a good blow out. might sell it after we get to the bottom of this problem needs driven more

Short journeys/stop start is a killer for diesels and dpf equipped diesels. You would be better off with a petrol probably.

P0299 fault cleared

car drove 100% drove to petrol station

parked up, went to start - failed to turn over ( sometimes does this ) engine management light on fault code pointing to G450 sensor again??

is there anyway a failing/bad battery - could cause the ecu to throw fault codes
