B5 AWX Running cold!

My 03 AWX B5 is running between 55 and 85 degrees. I have changed the temp sensor today but the problem is if anything worse! I bought a eurocarparts sensor and reading on here they might not be the best ones to use. My next stop was going to be the thermostat see if that does anything but I'm not sure as the open shut temps on the thermostat are above the temp I'm running at! Thought it may be an airlock?
Would it be worth biting the bullet and getting a dealer part before trying to trouble shoot any further? Any other ideas will be more than welcome, cheers folks.

your heater, dos it blow really hot air or just lukewarm air.

It's not like a dealer thermostat and CTS are expensive. Cheap copies are like cheap women, they look ok but they won't always warm you

The heater is spot on, gets the car really toastie however once the car is warm I usually set the temp to stay about 22.

I like your metaphors! So what you are saying is just bite the bullet and go dealership. I have a longstanding relationship with the dealers so I will give them a shout see what it's going to set me back! ��
