1998 Audi A4 2.5 TDI SE won't start

Hi, can anybody help! I got in my Audi a4 as usual and turned the key, it went to start then just cut out, after this it turns over but just won't take/start, I have changed the lift pump, and checked fuses, but still won't start, any ideas would be appreciated thanks, Don

Hi Don, happy new year.

Have you had the car scanned for trouble codes? There are a few things that could cause a non start but it would be hard to advise you further if you haven't had it checked for codes.

Hi Jim, is there a diagnostic plug in a 1998 model, has I am not sure when they started putting all that in cars, if so do you know where it is located regards, Don. Ps happy new year to you too.
