I'd be quite interested in this although my car has just come back from having the 'Oil Consumption' issue fixed..... do you think this would compromise or effect the work?

well went to get it done today but the dude was unable to perform it. said my no software was available to select for my ECU ID, which is 401C. there was softare there for 401B, 401F etc, but no "C". looks like there may not be one for my car. which would suck big time!! :-(

Man that sucks. Is your local dealer going to contact Revo HQ and see if they are planning to release a version suitable for your car?

well looks like there is a map for my engine according to REvo. trouble is, Revo has said i have "one of those engines" that require the ECU to opened up to flash! bugger! might just give this a miss as the boy said hes cant do it within the time frame of the discount price and normally he sends teh EU down to HQ anyway. its not with the hassle

Mine was exactly the same, i watched the dealer open my ECU and it filled me with dread but it was simple once opened and done in around 2 hrs from start to finish.
If he is worth his salt he can do it as they are all trained by Revo to do this.
If you book it now they should honour their price promise.
Ring Mark and discuss it with him

Well I contacted Revo today as it was the garage that told me the news. Revo said "All Revo software is Port flashed via the OBD2, we do not remove ECU’s (apart from on the 1.6 CR Diesel)."
Who have you been speaking to?

All done through the port now however this is only a recent development.
I'm really considering one for my 3.0 now that its out of warranty.

Looks like the garage I went to has fobbed me off then. I'm still awaiting a response back from revo

My Audi specialist is a Revo dealer and thats what he said. All cars except the 1.6 TDI are now flashable through the port including all those with locked ECUs ie ECD17 cars.

Mine was done last year and it was an ECU job out but i did hear they are doing it via OBD port now.
Who was your dealer who said the software was not available for your car.
They need a kick up the **** as they don't seem to know what there are supposed to do

I have spoken to the Technical support department to find out what’s happening with your specific ECU I.D. it appears that it’s an I.D that we’ve not seen previously, meaning that we require a full ECU read and that would involve removing/opening the ECU, until we have this file I.D created.
Dealer Locator | REVO, Race Bred Adrenaline (http://www.revotechnik.com/dealer-locator)
Some dealers who aren’t as technically experienced with the ECU’s can be reluctant to open them up, this leaves two options. You either visit a dealer who is competent in opening and reading the ECU or alternatively the car would need to be left with a dealer to allow time to remove the ECU and send to Revo HQ for our technical team to open/read and reseal it for you.
Sorry for the confusion and inconviniance.
dont think i'll bother now!!

As long as it is sealed correctly you have nothing to worry about.
I watched mine being prised open, flashed and re-sealed by the dealer in his Garage.
It was a worry watching the force required to open it but also a comfort seeing how much car was taken to reseal it.
If you drive a mapped car you will regret not getting it done

trouble is my next nearest REVO dealer is some distance away and apart from the hasssle getting there i will certainly miss the boat for the offer now anyway.
my next move i think is a bluefin, they have 10% off just now.

Just ring them to make sure they can do your car, especially is Revo cannot do it via OBD port. Keep us all updated with how you get on.

I have just gone ahead and arranged for this to get done on my car. The garage confirmed that it would be port flashed and would take 1-2 hours to complete. I was a bit unsure wether or not to get this done but seeing as the warranty has now run out on my car i thought - Why the hell not.
Along with the positive reviews on here there is no reason to at least try it and see what it's like.

Just got this done today. Phoned the garage yesterday and they were able to take the car this morning. Only took 1 1/2 hours for the port flash.
I have to say the results are impressive. It certainly has a willingness to pull harder but the V6 is still very smooth. It gets to a point where you don't realise how fast it's going (I was doing 60 in a 30 zone inadvertantly)!!!
I would definitely recommend getting this done and am looking forward to giving it a proper burn this weekend.

You'll not see the full benefit of the software until the ecu re-learns and re-adapts certain parameters. Usually this takes about 100 miles or so to happen.

Thanks for the heads up. I have done about 80 miles so far but they certainly didn't mention this when i picked up the car. No complaints so far though and if there is further improvement after the 100 mile mark then all the better!!!
