A bit smokey & seems to miss fire for a couple of seconds

Over the last couple of mornings I have noticed that my car seems a bit more smokey on first start up and it seems as if it miss fires for a couple of seconds. I suppose the colder weather could cause the extra smoke but not sure3 on the miss fire, any thoughts appreciated.
