Hi all,

This is a strange one. My Audi A6 Avant 3.0 56 plate with Xenons, rear LED lights and auto lights has an occasional problem.

When getting out of the car there is a loud beep when the door is open, but no lights on the dashboard to indicate what the problem is. I also noticed that only the passenger side front DRL light is on together with the passenger rear LED cluster, even after I lock the car.

When I start the engine, stop it, the beep/light issue goes away.

Any ideas? I know I will need to get it scanned but was wondering if anyone came across this before.

I suspect a dying battery is the cause as I think it's still on the original one when new. There is no receipt for one from the previous owners and I've not had the car long so I wouldn't have changed it.

Any ideas appreciated.

Is your indicator stalk set on left turn ?

Yeah as above I think it's your parking lights. Once you are parked if you put your indicator to the left or right that sides side lights come on. It will beep as you get out to let you know.

*facepalm* serves me right for not reading the instruction manual!! What a school boy error. The indicator was indeed in the left position. Cheers guys.

Hahaha, good effort lol. On a plus side, you now have a new feature you didn't know you had! :)

**Ahem** It's a parking light which stays on with the stalk, not the DRL. Just sayin' like. :D

Glad you solved it.
