Hi all .. new to the forum but looks great?!

I just bought myslef a 56 plate Polo 1.2 E (55) and am seriously regretting it :confused:

When I'm idling at the lights, the car starts to vibrate/ shake like mad, and in my non expertise , it seems like there's not enough petrol getting to the engine?

I've taken it to a separate VW dealer and they have '' connected it to the computer '' and can see no fault? Thing is, my mate has the exact some car and his doesn't do this at all? The garage says its due to the car only being 3 cylinder but i can't see that thats right? Is it? I'm totally stressin about it as i think ive bought a duff car and have no come back

Have any other Polo owners experienced this?

Any advice would be great! Cheers, Jamie

get the compressions checked as ive had several damage the valves!
if they are low when head off and stripped replace the valve guides as they wear uneven causing above fault

My ‘06 9n3 Polo (19,000 miles) vibrates a bit when idling. I think it always has. If I speed-up the revs a bit (foot on accelerator pedal) then it runs very smoothly, until the revs settle down again. When warm/hot it idles at 700rpm. It stops shaking at 800 to 850 rpm.
It is not possible to "adjust" the idling rpm with these cars. But, if you have a VAG-COM you can adjust the trim a little to speed it up (or slow it down) a bit. I have not tried to trim mine (yet) because it is not too bad.

Hi there

We have same problem, see thread here;

http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=71304

I have driven some other small 3 cylinder cars, such as the Corsa, and they certainly didn't idle like these are doing!
