ECU on 2008 A6 C6 part # 4F9910401L

I have a problem with my ECU. Its not giving fuel inside the engine. Has been running great until last wednesday when it wouldn't start after standing for aprox 2 hours. The workshop says its in the "head" and not in the sensors or engine. Anyone with a good idea?

Am guessing you have a 3.0TDi 233 engine from the part no.

Did the garage run diagnostics, if so did they let you have a copy?

Also if they are replacing the unit ensure you get the old one back!

No idea where it's located but from looking at the part on-line it does seem to have a heat sink so would guess i the engine bay.

Am sure someone knowledgable will be along soon, appreciate it's a busy time for many :D

Correct. 3.0 tdi 233 hp. The garage didnt get anything from the OBDII connection, they said it was because it didnt run.. I have taken out the controller, and sendt it to an expert here in Norway who had the original program for this model, and he is as we speak putting the program in it, and ship it back to me. IF it doesnt run after this I will buy a used box from ebay, for some smaller money than brand new.. (cost almost as much as a used car in UK..)

Since the car is older than 5 years, vag has no ownership of old parts or any warranties to parts in Norway, so if the unit must be changed, the old one is mine to do whatever I want. ;-)

ECU is now reprogrammed, and going in for test tomorrow. Keep your fingers crossed.

Reprogramming of ECU worked. Now tested at garage, and running. The ECU had been opened earlier, before I bought it, so if there was a corrupt file inside the ECU its now gone.
