View Full Version : Lashing eye question

Just trying to sort out the lashing eyes in my 2012 A6. On the left hand side, one of them will move but only in a limited range at the far end (nearest the rear seats). Given this I could never remove it. Is this right?? On the right hand side the lashing eye will only slide down so far before it stops - around the same point the left hand one gets stuck going the other way. So I'm suspicious that it has gone 'too far' at some point.
How do I get the left hand one out??

Try either waxing or eyebrow pluckers. Are you on the correct forum?

I’m not sure if it’s part of the Avant load area fixing kit I added, but the four e̶y̶e̶l̶a̶s̶h̶e̶s lashing eyes I have can be moved to any point on the rails and are removable. I would guess there is something in the runner if there is a problem with movement?

Thanks for your helpful replies!
I removed one of the rails and a large stone fell out. I then found half a screw in the other one. They are all working OK now.
Thank you for the post regarding the roof rails. It wasn't until I read it did I have a clue as to what the OP was talking about.

I assumed it was the load rails in the boot, not the roof rails. Whatever, very confusing post from the start.

It was the boot load rails.

Oh! The title meant that I was thinking about the towing eyes behind the covers on the front/rear bumpers!

I was talking about the fuel rails in the engine bay!
So Charles, I think that Year/Make Model and location may be in order and then maybe a bit more of a clue to your issue?
