this is my second 3.0tdi engine, the first being an 2006, current 2011. The 2011 is much quieter than the 06 was, however I do hear what can be best described as a tick when the engine is cold, most noticeable around 1500-2000 rpm. It goes away after 3-4 mins, quicker if straight onto a main road and the engine warms up faster. It could just be I am tuned into this noise now and the extra noise from the older car drowned it out. Just wondering if anybody else has noticed similar when the engine is cold??
