Hi All,

I left the fold and bought a Merc E class a couple of years ago but now wish to return with an Audi A6 Avant. I'm looking at the 2 litre turbo petrol as I don't do many miles.

What should I look out for on this model? I've seen a nice one on Auto trader 2007 56 plate, which is an S line FSI with multitronic. Quite high mileage, circa 135k. Just had timing belt kit changed and Transmission service at 131k miles.

Thanks

Only some of them. My 2.0 TFsi uses 200-300 ml per 1000 miles. Worth asking the PO, though.

Hi, I just brought a 2008 plate TFSI in Sept.

Full Audi service history was useful, I contacted Audi to confirm details like timing belt outstanding recalls etc.

I look atry several cars from eBay and Autotrader.

Check for water ingress in rear side storage holes and the rails for luggage strap points.

The chrome roof bars and windows are often milky or discoloured.

Water/mist in tail lights.

Centre DIS display back light either dim or doesn't come on in cold.

Check vcds fault codes, mine had 3 intermittent electrical on doors.
