Hi all. I seem to be having no luck with Symphony II head units. After my own one failed (stuck with the word code in the display - been into Audi, they said its knackered) I got a replacement one (I bought an entire A6 avant for parts) however it seems to be dead, apart from when you first plug in the power and speaker plugs at the rear of the unit - when you do this you can hear what sounds like the CD motor whirring up for a few seconds. However there is no backlight and no display. Have checked the radio fuse, as well as the fusebox fuse. Have had then out in the hope it would reset but so far nothings made any difference. Does it sound like its had it as well? I did have an aftermarket single DIN unit fitted but I just didn't like the look of it or any of the double DINs on the market. Prefer the look of the standard unit.... Many Thanks, Duncan .

You really need to eliminate the possibility that the problem lies with the wiring of your car..

Did the replacement Symphony unit work in the car you bought for scrap? If not, it's worth (temporarily) installing it in a known-working car before writing the unit off....
