Does anyone else do the same as me?
My car is a company car 2012 currently on 59,000 miles I don't agree with the long life service it's too much for the oil in my opinion so I change the oil and filter myself between services. I have to keep the car to 100k or 4 years. Personally I see the 4 years the car is with me as my car not a lease vehicle a company asset to be cared for.
am I alone in thinking this? As some vehicles I see on the road currently look a mess at two/three years old with dents and scratches all over god knows the mechanical condition ie bounced up down kerbs etc.

Think you'll find yourself in the minority. Most people that have a company car will drive it and only put it in for a service when the reminder comes on the DIS or the lease manager calls to book the car in. I agree the long-service regime is an engine killer. I use Castrol Edge 5w30 in my A4 and replace every 10k. Unless you physically own the car, I suspect most company cars are driven like they were stolen!

I managed to get my 2007 company car on fixed 12500 services which the lease co allowed which was a good job.......'cos I bought it when it was 4yo and still have it!
I'd never expected to at the outset but things change over time so you never know....

Well my company cars I drove hard but still looked after them, I paid the tax they were mine for the duration
Always serviced as per the manufacturers regime and even after 4 years and 120k miles no oil burnt and ran really well..
Of course some colleagues with zero car interest drove theirs into the ground in the same time, but guess who's car people wanted if there were swaps on the cards. Yup mine!
Modern oils are designed to last, in fact I recently sold my merc e class 6 years old 170k miles (I put 130k on it) and it was done every 15k miles and the engine was beautiful ( only sold as inherited my mums a4.) smooth and economical, my specialist always commented on this compared to other cars he maintained....
I recall one of the companies I worked wouldn't even let you change a wheel let alone consider changing the oil, of course I changed wheels where I could... Stuff waiting for an aa man if I could do it in. 15 mins myself lol

That's because some of them might be too detached from the whole car insurance thing through having blanket company insurance policies. They don't have to be concerned about the extra premiums and costs and it shows on the road. Maybe?
I'm thinking about certain other 'tarnished' European brands of course!
