Well, that's us had our C7 2.0 tdi Avant Black for a bit now - long enough to do a proper comparison and thought I'd come on for a bit of a moan.

My wife runs the new A6 and I've still got a C6 2.7 tdi SE and after having driven the new one for a week while we've been away down in Wales I definitely much prefer my C6. The build quality of the older cars just seems superior. We've had Audis for a good few years now and have had the privilege of owning A4, A6 and Q7 models and I've got to say, I'm most disappointed with the new A6.

It shudders pulling away in 1st gear. My C6 also does this but that's to be expected from a 123000 mile car on its first clutch / DMF - not a brand new car with only 13000 miles on it.

The interior feels a bit cheap and the cars been back to the dealer already to have the hazard light switch re fitted after it partially disappeared into the dash.

The exterior trim has also come loose at the drivers side quarter glass.

MMI system always freezes when bluetoothed to iPhone 6 and playing music.

On the whole pretty disappointed. Never had any real trouble with our previous cars. The wife originally fancied an A7 after this one but I think were both reconsidering after this car.

As someone who is very close to coming back to Audi this is a bit disappointing to hear.
Mind you I bet it's still far better built than my current Evoque.
Now that is a car I regret buying.

Are you sure this is not just a 1 off I had the A6 out from the dealer for a few days when out Q7 was in for a service & we liked it seemed to be a good as our previous A6.

I would echo the one off sentiment; I'm certainly impressed with the A7 and no build issues so far.

Having owned a C6 and two C7s myself I cant agree with any of this. In terms of build quality theres nothing in it whilst in all other respects the C7 is streets ahead. As it should be given the C6 is now a 10 year old design.

I also came from a C6 2.7 to a C7 2.0 and have found the interior of the C7 to be vastly superior. There is never any clutch judder and I pull a caravan behind mine. I have no rattles after 30000 miles no probs with MMI. It seems that your car may have had a unsympathetic first owner. The only regrets I have are the loss of quattro and tiptronic gearbox which I loved.

It's all subjective I guess. We also had a C7 A6 while our Q7 was in for service and it seemed good at the time - it's one of the reasons we ended up buying the A6.

I'm aiming for 250k miles out of my old A6. I suppose time will tell with the new A6.
