I bought a 3 year old A6 C6 Avant S-line last week. Want to

1: add front parking sensors - does anyone have experience of some decent after market ones (main dealer says Audi dont have any front parking sensors to add.

2: change/swop wheels/tyres to some with better 17 inch alloys and tyres ride as fitted to SE for better ride. Current ones are 255/35 ZR19 contis; any advice for an economic way to do this.

3. Add an iphone charger to glove compartment, Anyone know a kit please.

thanks BB

Do you mean C6 as the B6 was an older A4? I don't think you'll have a problem swapping the wheels which, assuming they are genuine, are as fitted to the Le Mans and allroad Special Edition. That tyre size is also as fitted to some TTs although I guess the presumed lower offset on yours will give a wider stance on a TT. I would suggest 17x7.5 so you can at least fit 235s, but check your door sticker for approved Audi sizes and don't discount conversion sizes too if your insurer is happy.

1. No experience, sorry :(
2. First person I've seen post that wanted to drop 2" down, most think it looks like it's on stilts on 17", but I'll buy your 19"s :)
3) Just to charge an iPhone? Am sure any decent auto-electrician could install a USB charging point about anywhere you wanted

To charge an iPhone just buy a cradle for the arm rest if you have a 4/4s phone then get a ipnone 3 cradle off ebay they go cheap as most sellers are unaware that the 4 models fit.

If you have a 5 then you would need a 5 cradle due to the length of the phone.

I have a spare set of 17 wheels (Face lift SE models rocket style) if you wanted a swap but the tyres would need to be replaced.

Hi, I'm a few weeks behind you. Due to pick up an sline on a 61 plate this week. I'm also looking for front sensors so have been doing a little research. Surface mount are out so either the flush mount cobra f0394 or alternatively some of the behind bumper units but they seem to get variable reviews.

If you know someone who can reprogram the on board computers via VCDS then there is a free software only upgrade of the rear sensors to Audi PSP via the MMI , see
VCDS: Enabling Audi Parking System Plus on Acoustic-only Rear | Audi-Sport.net (http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads/vcds-enabling-audi-parking-system-plus-on-acoustic-only-rear.207184/#post-2055424). This seems to be a
no-brainer!

Or for £500 to £600 plus labour you can go for the complete front and rear Audi PSP see

http://www.kufatec.co.uk/shop/en/audi/a6/a6-4f/aps-audi-parking-system-plus-front-retrofit-audi-a6-4f

or

Audi Optical Parking System Retrofit Kit | Advanced In Car Technologies (http://www.advanced-incar.co.uk/parking-sensors/audi-optical-parking-sensors-kit). Seems to most elegant solution but all the work involved it has got to be costing
a total of £750 to £800.

All this is as yet unproven )::

Those prices do not cover the cost of a new front bumper and paint job.

It would be quite nifty to be able to enable the parking system plus. Is there anybody to the west f Glasgow that would be able to do this I wonder?

A friend of mine has a business in Newbury that fits oem looking parking sensors for £200 per side. Look up G7 Sounds, you can see pictures of his work on Facebook if you're on it. I also may be interested in a swap of the wheels for my 17" ones, though mine are a bit scuffed, so you'd probably be able to find a better candidate :o

Main dealer knows nothing :D

You can add original parking sensors to your car, is this 4F or 4G version?
If 4G bumper will have 6 sensors or 4 if 4F.
Most likely new parking aid module will need to be changed.
You may need new bumper or wholes will need to be cut (bumper have a marks where wholes should be).
4 sensors and electric harness from Kufatec.de ( can use Kufatec.co.uk but they are rubbish and cost more then kufatec.de)

The car is a C6 (4F). I've decided the upgrade to the OEM type front sensors is too expensive. I've bought a Cobra F0394 and this is going to be fitted next week. Also bought the 17 mm Cobra cutting tool which should ensure a good job. Sensor faces have been sprayed to match the car paint.
I was quite happy with the acoustic sensors the main dealer had fitted to the front of my previous A4 Avant and I think these are the same make so hopefully will be fine.
I may only keep the car for 6 to 9 months so will probably leave the wheels and Tyres as is.
