Hi

My car has developed a rather annoying squeek/rubbing noise which I can only really hear when I am sat in the cab, can't hear it with the bonnet open. It sounds like it is coming from lower front passenger side in the engine bay. It sounds like a pulley is loose and the belt is rubbing slightly - but there are no moving parts where it sounds like it is coming from. i have checked the aux belt pulleys and tensioners and they all seem tight and the noise isn't coming from that area. The noise is there at idle and disappears about 1400rpm and the car sounds fine and has no vibrations or anything different. It is related to RPM and not speed. It started about a month ago and has gradually got worse. Now the only things I can think it may be are either DMF or gearbox. Thats the only things in the vicinity that are rotating and related to RPM. Anyone had anyhting similar or have any ideas what it may be?

Thanks in advance

had the same thing happen to me. turned out the fan at the front engine bay bearings were going replaced with new sorted the problem. but could also be many things front suspension bushes / c links etc
