Adding auto-lock / anti hijack

Quick question..looking to add auto door lock..( the one where it locks doors when you drive )
Which module do i need to change..convenience, comfort, canbus,etc???
Ive been told my car hasn't got correct module.!!

Has someone already tried to activate auto locking on your car? Just wondering who told you it didn't have the correct module?
It should just be a matter of activating the auto locking feature in the comfort ECU, but if someone has already tried to do it and couldn't then perhaps you will need to replace the ECU.
I think replacing the comfort ECU will also mean having the electric steering lock and keys recoded too, so it might not be that straight forward a job.

I could come to you, but I'm confused as to how you can do it but VW couldn't..???

Perhaps Richard is smarter than the techs at your VW dealer or maybe he doesn't want to sell you an ECU you don't need.

I've an '06MY SEL and I enabled it on mine. AFAICR it come on between 10 - 15mph. But took it off again as that's one more thing that can go wrong in the event of a major prang. The switch is there marked with a key, that I enable whenever I drive through Wembley :Blush2:
