I have had a recent Revo remap which has really improved the performance of the car, in fact it has become somewhat of a rocket ship!
However, I've some concerns about the standard brake set up and wonder if its man enough??
Ive also got a type of knock which sounds like a pad is loose in the caliper which happens on occasion at low speeds, not sure if the previous owner has replaced with on OEM so cant be sure if its the probelm.
And...parking prake problems :(
So...the questions are...is there an non OEM upgrade or improved disk/pad set up that would answer the above questions? If yes, is there a recommended forum sponsor/garage in the south that would be able to assist/recommed a set up and solve all the above issues in one hit?
Has anyone upgraded/uprated standard brake et ups after remapping?
Cheers
Scott

Which PR-code brakes do you have, there are umteen versions you see and so maybe upgrade to the next size up.

Really Interested to hear about the Revo, did it make much difference to the throttle response?
Brakes wise, is yours manual or auto, my auto are pretty good.

I had the Revo map done at Regal Autosports in Southampton as part of a summer deal, £300 all in. Very good deal and customer service
It's a marked difference in acceleration and torque, the response is better but not completely gone in "D" but is nearly non existent in "S".
The only problem is that its infectious and I've got to keep an eye on the speed as it's very easy to get carried away.
As it was SE spec I also had Regal fit KW ST coilovers which gives a better stance and has improved the handling.
The car is an Auto Tip so not sure what that means brake wise
I'd recommend the Revo map but I'm no expert and haven't experienced any others
It's just fun to loose the youngsters at the lights in what looks like a pretty stock middle aged man's car!
My colleagues laugh and say its a mid life crisis pimping my car but hey what do they no in their 320 diesels

How much do you want to spend? I have been looking at Brembo 6 pot front caliper conversion and looking at £1200 give or take. You can also get some BBK from other vendors online, the other option is just upgrade your disc/ pad combo to something like an EBC or MTEC.

Why uprate the brakes at all? Are you getting to greater top speeds than before, or just accelerating faster? If you still slowing down from your usual speeds the brakes will be fine. In fact as I doubt (I could be wrong of course!) you ever tried to slow from 130+ very often anyway (and brakes are sized for worst case) I suspect you standard brakes are fine. :-)

The OP already said that he found the speed addictive, so probably answers the question. Also sounds like the modding of the brakes are part of the mid life crisis too, don't spoil the fun with sensible advice. ;)
I guess the top speeds of the BiTdi and the standard 3 litre diesels will be similar, but audi still choose to fit uprated brakes, so no reason not to here.

Scott, am torn between Raf's comment and the upgrading debate. Can I ask if your car was rolling road tested before and after? Am guessing not but did they plot a graph and advise of gains?
Chesterfields BiTdi point is a compelling one, however that has something like a 22% hike at 313 over the standard 245 quattro.
If you've got those sort of gains then go for it, anything less then personally I'd just got for some SS brake lines and EBC discs and either EBC or Akebona (if available) pads which will maximise your stopping. Also consider some uprated sway bars...but read some reviews first.
I had an 'eco' remap, mainly for greater MPG so only running about 12% higher than stock, so my brakes 'as is' are will be fine..my suggestion would be to invest in a decent radar/speed trap detector and try and stay within the speed limit (or only 10%+2MPH above!). If you're really interested in seeing max speed then maybe do a few track or airfield days to get it out of your system!? :biglaugh:
My philosophy is simple...if you need to break the speed limit...then you really should have left earlier!:1zhelp:

The lack of throttle response drives me crazy sometimes, but in sport its miles better, just don't want to drive in sport all the time!!!
Hate to ask, but is the fuel economy any better since the remap?
Any Pics with the coilovers on?

I thought Sport only alters the change points the gear box ? Considering a remap on my 2006 3.0Tdi A6 S line (A Blue Fin Remap). have to agree on the brake issue, min are excellent. My consideration would be if you upgrade the fronts you will unbalance the car as the rears are still standard.
Just my 2p.

Just my 2p worth. In most cases the rear brakes on the 3.0tdi is the same as the S6.

Certainly on mine, sport makes a massive difference to throttle pick up. Obviously helps being further up the rev range, but there is a big difference other than holding on the gears.
Rear brakes don't really need upgrading unless you make really big changes up front as the fronts take most of the load.
Personally, I think I'd be hard pushed to run out of brakes on the road even with an extra 100hp.
Scott, sounds like you might need a brake overhall?

Throttle sensitivity is increased too, so the same physical movement gets you more "go".
