View Full Version : Question Is a Load Guard standard equipment on the Allroad?

In the C6 Allroad I just bought, there is no retractable net load guard, even though the manual does not list this as * or as an accessory. I had one in my C5 Allroad, and really miss it. Nor can I find it as an Audi Accessory, even though here are mounting slots for it on the back of the rear seats.
1. Should there be one as standard?
2. Would the one for the C5 Allroad fit onto the rear seats of the C6?
Local Audi dealer rather unhelpful or lack knowledge.
Thanks for your help.

As far as I know it's standard on all Avants/Allroads yes. The C5 and C6 ones look to be different however, and the C6 one quite a bit more expensive.

Thanks for that. I have since found it (very briefly) mentioned in the Allroad 2006 Brochure as "Partition Net" - but hard information is hard to find.
In any case, does anyone think I have any recourse to the Audi Dealer if they sell me a 3 year old car with a missing standard bit of kit that I did not spot before concluding the purchase?

Although I've had all versions of the A6 allroad I can't remember how the C5 partition net looked, but I doubt it would fit anyway. I think when buying a second hand car you have to accept that unless told to the contrary that what you see is what you get. I'm the sort of person who includes all the original stuff (that I can find) to the point of having bought a litre pack of oil to include when selling a car on "sale or return" through a dealer. Partition nets have a habit of being put somewhere out of the way when needing to use the full load area, and then being neglected when the load cover is reinstated - then left to collect cobwebs.
I don't think you'll have much recourse unless you specifically asked e.g. if everything was there. But, you could ask them to contact the previous owner which might trigger a memory.
Good luck.

Are you talking about the net that pulls up to the ceiling? Mine has one, it fits in behind the rear seats and then a similar fitment puts the load cover in place.

For what it's worth the netting has changed from an open "net" structure in the C5 to a much tighter "mesh" in the C7 (combined with privacy glass makes reversing in the dark tricky). I'll have a look at my C6 when I get the chance and report back. Needless to say, whilst it may deter a dog it isn't wide enough to contain one who's determined to bypass it.
Just checked. C6 is also "mesh".

I don't think there is any harm in going back tot he dealer and pointing out that is missing and asking for it to be replaced. Audi make great play on their used car programme and how it is like buying a new car and I would have thought it should have been flagged up as missing. As with all things the cost for the dealer to replace it (or contact the PO if it was a trade in to them) would be much lower than than the price to you. If they say sorry but nothing they can do at least see if they will sell you one at their cost

Just a note to record that Kim at Audi Edinburgh (Lomond Group) was very helpful - seems to have sourced me a partition net, as well as a missing cigarette lighter cap (keep the grandchildren from poking the wrong things in...)
Thanks all for yr replies.
