what does the top mount bearing look like and how much to replace it.

Its a top mount rather than a bearing and in my experience these rarely fail on an A4, even on high milers. If you've got knocking look elsewhere such as upper control arms, lower arms or C link (anti-roll bar connection). Cost around £20 for a couple. Meyle, Lemforder or genuine VAG part.

But the fact that they can fail is the reason I'm posting for assistants. Cheers for the pictures now I now what they look like
