Hi,
I have a 03 A4 Avant. The central locking is acting up. While driving the door are locking and unlocking. The doors would normally unlock when you removed key from the ignition this now only happen sometimes. I was also trapped in the car for short time on Sat as the doors would not unlock. I have now removed the fuses for the central locking.
If anyone has had this problem or know how to fix it any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Allen
Check for frayed or broken wires in the loom between door and pillar.

Going to local Auto Spark on Thursday, as I don't have a clue.

Here we go again!
Fault has returned. All wiring checked no issues. No faults codes found.
I've now had the auto locking switched off so that the doors no longer lock when you drive off.
Which works fine sometime, but doors will lock randomly at any speed once they do lock will then continue locking and unlocking.
Car is running fine but having to drive listening to the doors constantly locking and unlocking is starting to do my head in to the point where the car is going to have to go unless I can find the problem.
I have resorted to removing the fuses for the central locking which is not ideal.
Once again any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm, so no frayed or broken wires and no fault codes. Long shot, but is the passenger footwell carpet damp by any chance?

Well finally solved the problem.:D Got so hacked of with it at weekend and pulled the door panel off. I had it fixed in 15 mins. The section of the wiring loom from door locking switch had not been clipped in and as result the insulation on the brown wire which I assume is the live was worn through. Quick wrap with bit of tape and clipped in properly.
Moral of the story do it yourself and never trust sparks who tell you they've checked all the wiring:zx11:
