Haven't seen anything like this since they came as dealer fitted on my Dads Regatta, then I think he had some added to his Sierra Sapphire all in the 80's. No wait. I have seen them since, in former eastern block countries in the early 90's when they started modding the Trabants, Ladas and the likes. I recall seeing many with the sunroof visors too, even if, and typically they did not, have a sunroof!
I just googled, and you can now buy custom sun strips, maybe a tasty mediterranean green fade shade complete with 'his and hers' names would complement the Clim Air wind deflectors quite nicely.
My final thought, if you go for it, don't skimp, get them for the rear windows too.

A reply for you
Wind Deflectors (http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?139745-Wind-Deflectors)
The only addition to my posts in the above thread would be a warning about keeping the deflectors clean of grit. When I removed them from the last car the top of the windows were pretty badly scratched where they'd met the deflectors.
I've not got round to fitting them to this one yet.

I hadn't seen them in a while myself but I'd seen a 2014 A6 with them and thought the looked well. They had a slim profile and blended in well on the car.
Thanks for the tip on the custom sun strips, just ordered 2 for both cars..... NOT!

i have some on my 80. they my be climair, or some other make, but they are certainly wind deflectors. anyway, they are good. they stop water blowing in off the screen and you can open the window a little ickle bit without loads of wind noise.

Had them on our Ford ST to stop the booming noise when the window was open. Stops the rain coming in if you wish to let a little fresh air in.
You almost need to snap them to put them in the window channel.
