Since my Nokia Lumia 1020 upgraded to wp8.1 I have not been able to listen or reply to texts coming through the cars bluetooth system.

Prior to the update If I received a text it would be announced by the cars lovely female voice. I could then choose the option to verbally reply or ignore.
Now when I receive a text the MMI changes screen as if I am receiving a call then connects and disconnects the phantom call over the course of about 10 seconds.
Has anyone else experienced the same?

TIA

Have you tried deleting the pairing on both car and phone, then re-installing?

Yes
Tried so far:-

Delete handset from the car followed by turning off the ignition and restarting.
deleting pairing from phone at the same time followed by shutdown/reset of phone.

Then

Bluetooth-> Settings -> reset bluetooth to factory settings.
deleting pairing from phone at the same time followed by shutdown/reset of phone.

Don't know what else to try at the moment.

Just to add:-
Sending and receiving calls works fine as does the address book.

It would appear you are not alone

A quick visit to the local dealership and its sorted with me feeling a right knob of the highest order.....
The latest update to wp8.1 included a mod to the volume controls of the phone in the fact that the ringer volume is now seperate from the apps volume (the latter includes the messenging volume).

Turn the apps volume up on the phone and hey presto the car talks to me again.

Easily sorted but at least by posting on here no one else should fall into the trap.

P.S. any idea how to mark this as solved?
