Hi all,

My clutch has had a slight judder for a year or more, has not got any worse, but i imagine it will need sorting in the next few months.

I have a TPS account so i can get the clutch for a good price, the DMF i can also get but the discount is not as good as the clutch.

What would a good indy or clutch specialist charge for this job on my 2004 1.8T quattro s-line. Also is it better to keep genuine Audi or pattern??

Mine (same as yours but 2WD) has been like that since I bought the car off my Son over 3 years ago and all that time I've been thinking the same as you. I only seem to notice it when the car has been stood overnight or after standing in the cool for a while. I've assumed it to be condensation.
Either way, it seems to be no worse now after 25k miles than it was when I first noticed it.

Can't help with the labour costs but I hope that may give you a little hope.

Steve

It's about 6 hours work so genuine/oem parts would be best

Swarcup where did you get it done for that price? I need a flywheel and clutch change on my 2.5tdi quattro fast and the few garages i contacted aren't really replying

2.5 is a very different animal to 1.8 I'd say 8 hours labour at 60.00 plus vodka and tonic

Awesome! I won't badger you then but if you could drop us text or something with prices and which day you might be thinking about then that would be great. I can't remember what you said about clutches and how much torque the standard units are good for so if you could price me a couple of options and what power they're good for along with anything extra you think we might need (crank, shaft seals etc) then that would be grand!
While we're at it a couple of other things really want looking at and changing too: reverse light not working & the front snub mount is shot plus the engine mounts probably still want changing too. I have those fast road engine mounts you saw but the snub, clutch, flywheel etc all needs to be supplied.

Cheers
