Put your reg into and see if it comes back with a figure Quantum (http://ew5.earlweb.com/search.php?site=44®ion=62&language=5&brand=48)
Why not just read it off the dipstick?

5 litres fills my 2.5 spot on to the top mark on the dipstick. That's with sucking the filter housing clean of oil as well. You say oil sensor light coming on. Is it the oil pressure light or just the low level warning.?

Count yourself lucky, I had a faulty unit but in the opposite direction, rather than a false positive it gave me nothing... ended up getting a low oil pressure warning going around a roundabout. on investigation I found that I had lost 3+ litres!!!!. Soon afterwards it started misfiring on one of the cyninders, cost me the engine (I think)
