I'm having a panic as to whether I should have picked black instead of white. Questions:
1. Is it to late to change if the build slot is September 15th
2. Black or white?

Oooooo, big decision! I know white is hard to keep clean but when it is, looks stunning. I test drive a white A7 from Cardiff in the winter and was immaculate. It was all messed up when I took it back lol

I went for Daytona grey in the end.

The wife has phantom black on her A5 which hides some dirt but winter road salt shows up quite badly. Again though looks stunning when it's clean!

If you are torn between black and white (and don't like Daytona grey) I would go for the black.

I think the spec is locked down 3 weeks before production. Personally I love black, but I can't live with the swirls, white is bling (IMHO) and like daytona a fashion. So if it comes to a private sale there may be good demand, but also good supply... at least that was my rationale when choosing my preferred colour of Quartz grey. If I were brave I might have opted for the flat red, I rarely see it, but again like the black it would have swirls.

For me it's white

had one black car and never again, shows up every mark but looks great when cleaned properly

My BMW is 4 years old and everyone comments on how good a condition it is (it's white) but if you look carefully it's has a few marks but hides it's great

i have ordered white for my a6 as I find it easy to maintain and not many white ones about

Autoglym resin polish tipped off with autoglym HD wax is really good at getting rid of swirl marks.

Black or white? Gotta be white, makes it look ENORMOUS! Used to have a white car, when it was polished it looked almost blue in sunlight. Lovely.

Not what the wife says! ;-)

Absolutely no offence intended to anyone at all. Mods please remove if deemed too inappropriate,

I hear what your saying about the swirls on black, but I did see one the other day and it looked evil (in a good way) hence the dilemma.

That being said, I picked white in the first place because it looked awesome. Might be pre new car jitters;)

Black does look good. As I say, SRP and HD wax does the trick. Can put some pics up of the wife's 3 year old A5 if you like?

Everyone says how amazing it looks and auto glass said it was the best waxed car they had ever seen recently.

Not the best, will have to find the rest but think they are on the wife's computer (as it's her car)

This after a drive to town in the winter (a round trip of 30 miles)

Black looks great, although I am biased. Don't worry about swirls if you wash it yourself. I don't do anything special, I just use a microfibre mitt and drying towel, no marks at all. Do worry about swirls if you go to the hand car wash.

Driving up the M5 in my car today I was alongside a phantom black, BE A7, it looked amazing. Tend to look at mine a lot too......like you say, it looks menacing in a good way. When I see black editions on the road I think white looks great and I always give them a second look, but a phantom black I can't stop looking at!

This one is good. Shows how perfect the paint is. 2 coats of SRP and 2 coats of HD wax lasts for ages and looks like this.

Personally I really dislike white. But whilst it looks great, black can be a pain to keep clean.

Yup black (or dark blue) look great but they show every water splash. White is a bit better... and my glacier white paint does a good job of gradually fading as it gets dirty - and then you wash it and say "WOW"... but it does show bugs and tar much worse than black does.

If you want dirt 'anonymity' then go for a grey... my last A6 was Atlas Grey and hid the grime admirably but also looked top dollar when it was clean.

I chose white for my factory order and loved it. Now, my new BE is Phantom Black, I would have preffered white again but it still looks good in black so not too fussed.

A very tough desicion for you.

Not that many years ago white was a kiss of death colour for a car. Even the Police stopped specifying it. Even though it is now a la mode I havnt been able to shake off my aversion to it. All white cars, whoever makes them still look like beached whales to me. So if I only had Black or White to choose from it would be Black. But really I wouldn't. Black starts to look tatty as soon as it leaves the showroom. Its only for car cleaning fetishists. So any of the other A6 Palette colours would be my choice.

Black looks a bit too hearse like in my opinion especially with the privacy glass on the BE, White looks great clean, but does make it look huge. I'm a sheep and spec'd Daytonna Grey to match all the others out there.:D
Now all I need is a delivery date.

Daytona Grey is what I've got :).

There's also a really nice blue that Audi do, but I can't remember the name. The local dealer had an A3 and S8 next to each other in different blue variants and the blue the S8 had looked amazing... if only I remembered the name :p.

Moonlight Blue? Looks like a bottle of ink, almost black, but blue close up?
